Celebrating Summer in the Cowboy State and some of the best outdoor recreation in the country, Governor Mark Gordon has proclaimed June as Great Outdoors Month in Wyoming. “Wyoming has great outdoor opportunities year-round,” Gov. Gordon said. “Our state parks and federal lands are ideal for outdoor recreation. The outdoors is an integral part of our heritage, and we have won numerous awards and rank high on many outdoor ranking websites. I encourage everyone to get outside this June. Raiders had a tough week

The Riverton Post 19 Raiders went one for three this past week with one score missing. On Wednesday Jackson’s Giants took a doubleheader from Riverton 10-0 and 4-3 On Saturday in Laramie, the Raiders dropped a 18-0 game to the Casper Oilers but came back to defeat the Laramie Rangers 17-12 On Sunday, no score was reported in the rematch of Riverton and Laramie in the nitecap.

Wyoming whips Nebraska in Six-Man Shootout Saturday

What a game! The Wyoming Six-Man Football All-Stars pulled off a come from behind win over Nebraska on the last play of the game to defeat Nebraska’s All-Stars 52-50 in Nebraska on Satuday. At Chadron State College, Farson-Eden’s Lain Mitchelson found Burlington’s Dontae Garza on a “Hail Mary” from 45 yards out to win the shoot-out. Wyoming now leads the all-time series 5-3. Two St. Stephens Eagles played in the game, Roberto Hernandez and Jeremy Harris, and the Eagle’s Head Coach, Billy Brost, was part of the coaching staff for the annual game. Team Wyoming plays at Chadron State Saturday

Broncos Bowlen has died

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the Denver Broncos mourn the loss of Owner Pat Bowlen, who passed away late Thursday night at age 75 following his courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The Broncos extend their deepest sympathies to Mr. Bowlen’s wife, Annabel, his children (Amie, Beth, Patrick, Johnny, Brittany, Annabel, Christianna) and his entire family. St. St. Eagles Brown signs with Ladyjacks basketball

The Dakota College-Bottineau Ladyjacks basketball team has added some scoring to their line-up with the addition of Wyoming guard Martina Brown from St. Stevens Indian School in St. Stevens, Wyoming. Brown averaged 15.2 points per game, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.  She shot 50% from the field including 42% from beyond the three point arc.  She was an impressive 76% from the free throw line.    She was a member of the All-Conference team as well as being the only St. Stevens player selected to the Wyoming All-State Basketball Team.   Coach Johnson had this to say about […]

Chiefs’ Lane Hill signs with United Tribes Thunderbirds

Bismarck here they come. Another Wyoming Indian Chief has signed a letter of intent to play at United Tribes College in North Dakota. Lane Hill inked his deal today in the commons at WIHS. Hill will join the Chiefs Jarrick Trumbull, who signed with the Thunderbirds last month. Lane Hill was a key member of the Chief’s State Championship Team this year. In the title game Wyoming Indian topped Pine Bluffs for the title, 69-67. The Chiefs were conference champs and regional champs enroute to the finals. Two CWC Teams nominated for Academic Team OTY

Thirty-four Central Wyoming College athletes were awarded Region IX Academic Awards for maintaining a grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 or higher, and 21 athletes were winners of the NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Award.  This award requires a student-athlete to maintain a 3.6-3.79 GPA to make Third Team, a 3.8-3.99 GPA to make Second Team and a 4.0 GPA to make First Team.  Two teams have been nominated for the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year Award including women’s basketball and women’s cross country.  Karson Bradley and Cole Trainor have been nominated for the 2019 NIRA Scholar American Award.  Both Rodeo […]
