Two weeks and counting…

(Laramie, Wyo.) It seems hard to believe but two weeks from Saturday the Cowboys open the 2019 season with a ton of promise and an opponent from the SEC!  Tickets are going well for the Missouri game which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, in War Memorial Stadium.  This is only the second time in history that Wyoming has hosted an SEC team in the War.  Wyoming defeated Ole Miss in 2004, 37-32.

Pokes on National TV twice this season, vs UNM & UNR

AT&T SportsNet and the Mountain West Conference announced a nine-game television package on Tuesday, and two Wyoming Cowboy games will be featured.  Wyoming’s home game on Oct. 19 versus New Mexico and Oct. 26 home game vs. Nevada will both be televised by AT&T SportsNet.  The New Mexico game will kick off at 2 p.m. and the Nevada game will kick at Noon, M.T. The Cowboys game against the New Mexico Lobos will be Wyoming’s 2019 Homecoming Game.  Wyoming and New Mexico have a long rivalry, dating back to 1930.  This year’s meeting will be the 72nd in the series.  […]

Lander Boys Soccer went to the mountains for camp

The Lander Valley High School Tigers Boys Soccer Team, by all accounts, had a great camp this past week. The team did some elevation training with a run to the Popo Agie Falls, cooked a lot of food and worked on a lot of soccer. But most importantly, according to their Facebook Post, they became closer as a team.

Wyoming Soccer plays to draw in Gold & White game

Wyoming women’s soccer played its preseason Gold and White game to a 0-0 tie on Sunday afternoon at the IPF (Indoor Practice Facility). It was originally scheduled to be played at the Louis S. Madrid but was moved due to the inclement weather. The intersquad match consisted of one 25-minute period and two 20-minute periods. It remained scoreless between the two teams after the 65 minutes of action. Redshirt freshman Jamie Tatum had a scoring chance at 13:46 to begin but was saved by sophomore Hannah Lee. UW’s Regular Season Finale at AFA to be live on Facebook

The Wyoming Cowboys will be one of eight Mountain West Conference teams to be featured in football games to air on Facebook in 2019.  Wyoming’s 2019 regular-season finale at Air Force on Saturday, Nov. 30 will be broadcast on Facebook.  That game will kick off at Noon, M.T., from Falcon Stadium on the Air Force Academy campus. Through a partnership with Stadium, the Mountain West will have seven games air exclusively on Facebook. This is the third consecutive year the Conference and Stadium have partnered with Facebook. Pokes non-conference BB schedule has 8 home games

The Wyoming Cowboys will host eight games inside the Arena-Auditorium during the non-conference portion of the schedule this season, as the Cowboy basketball program announced it non-conference slate on Friday. Wyoming will play four games with teams from the Pac-12, Big 12 and Atlantic Coast Conference. Season-tickets are available for Cowboy basketball. Waters represents UW at U.S. Amateur Championship

The University of Wyoming men’s golf program will be represented in the most prestigious amateur golf event in the country beginning Monday when Cowboy golfer Bryce Waters will participate in the U.S. Amateur at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C.  Waters is scheduled to tee off Monday, Aug. 12 at 7:46 a.m., Eastern Time.  He will play the opening round with Ryan Hall of the United States and Kaito Onishi of Japan on the Pinehurst No. 4 course on Monday. Pokes’ Fall Football Camp update from Friday

Laramie, Wyo. —  Friday’s day seven of 2019 Wyoming Football Camp had head coach Craig Bohl talking about two specific position groups that have a number of players competing for playing time.  Those two positions being tight end and free safety. At tight end, the starting spot is in the very capable hands of redshirt senior Josh Harshman.  Harshman is returning for his fifth year in the program.  He earned a medical redshirt from the NCAA to get his senior season back.  Two other players return in sophomore Nate Weinman and redshirt freshman Jackson Marcotte, along with a true freshman in Treyton Welch.  The group provides an interesting […]

Wyo’s Maluia on Polynesian watch list for 2019

Honolulu, Hawai’i  – University of Wyoming senior linebacker Cassh Maluia has been named to the 2019 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award Watch List.  The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced its 2019 Watch List for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award on Tuesday.  The Award is presented annually to the most outstanding Polynesian college football player that epitomizes great ability and integrity. The Watch List is composed of 62 players from 32 different FBS schools.
