CWC Women begin Region IX Basketball Conference Play

The Lady Rustlers started out playing three top 25 teams in the nation during their pre-conference schedule.  The first half of the season did not go the way they hoped but made improvements every game until Covid hit the team with a two-week quarantine. With five practices under their belts, they look to begin conference play against Northwest College on Wednesday, February 24th at 5:30pm.  Conference opponents include Northwest College, Western Wyoming Community College, Casper College, Eastern Wyoming College, and Laramie County Community College. Pokes to clash with SJSU Thursday in Laramie

The Wyoming Cowboys welcome the San Jose State Spartans to the Arena-Auditorium on Thursday at 7 p.m. for the first of two games. CWC V-Ballers win first conference matches

Rustler Volleyball hosted Laramie County Community College and Eastern Wyoming College last weekend.  These two matches were the first two conference matches of the season, and the Rustlers came out of the weekend 2-0. The Rustlers opened up conference play on Friday night at home against the Golden Eagles of LCCC.  CWC ended up winning the match in 5 sets (25-20, 18-25, 24-26, 25-22, 15-11).  Freshman Makenzie Templeton led the Rustlers in kills with 21, and sophomore Sage Bearnson would follow her with 17.  Freshman setter, Sofie Langer, led the match in assists with 59.  Alondra Hernandez had 35 digs to lead the Rustlers on defense.  Paityn Williams had […]

Wyoming Indian Boys and Girls Schedule: The Wyoming Indian Lady Chiefs remained undefeated Thursday night with a 65-50 win over Big Piney while the Chiefs lost to the Punchers 77-51 in Southwest Conference play. Friday night the Lady Chiefs went up a division and lost to Lovell 50 to 46 for their first loss of the season.At Senior Day Saturday at Ethete, the Chiefs topped the St. Stephens boys 78-56. Pokes earn sweep over Lobos after fast start at AFA’s Clune Arena in Colorado Springs

The Wyoming Cowboys opened the contest on a 21-0 run on their way to a 79-67 win over New Mexico on Friday evening inside Clune Arena in Colorado Springs. It marked the second series sweep for the Pokes this season and the first season sweep of a series against the Lobos since the 2003 season. Rustler Men Lose in OT to Western Nebraska Tuesday

On Tuesday, February 15th, the Central Wyoming College Rustlers hosted Western Nebraska Community College. It was quite a physical game resulting in 48 total fouls, 24 fouls on each team.  The Rustlers found themselves down at the half 38-56 but a furious comeback resulted in CWC tying it up in the end from a shot by Abdi Dahir with 19 seconds remaining, sending the game into overtime. The Rustlers were outscored in the extra period and CWC fell to the Cougars 113-102. The Rustlers are now at an overall 1-7 record. Cowboys top Lobos in OT at Colorado Springs

The Wyoming Cowboys picked up a 83-74 overtime win over New Mexico on Wednesday evening inside Clune Arena in Colorado Springs. The Pokes had six players score in double-figures on the evening for the most in a contest this season. Severin 12th at The Prestige Collegiate Golf Tourney

The Wyoming Cowboys concluded their first collegiate tournament in almost a year on Wednesday and sophomore Tyler Severin finished off a strong week with a 12th-place showing among 120 of the nation’s top college golfers at The Prestige being played at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif.  Severin shot a 73 (+2) in the third and final round of the tournament to post a 214 (+1) three-round total.   Arizona and North Carolina finished the 56 holes with identical team scores of 848 (-4).  The individual title saw three players tie for first place at the end of regulation with three-round totals of […]

C’Bearing hits for 30 points in Chiefs Tuesday win

Wyoming Indian High School’s Tuff C’Bearing scored 30 points Tuesday night to lead the Chiefs to a 71-42 win over Riverside’s Rebels in a game played at Shoshoni. With the win, the Chiefs moved their season record to 3 and 2. The Lady Chiefs game against Riverside was cancelled by the Lady Rebels due to injuries on their team.

The Wyoming Cowgirls had arguably their best offensive performance of the season and one of their best defensive performances on the year as Wyoming hit a barrage of 3-pointers, 17 of them, and held Utah State to 31 percent shooting, on the way to a 79-42 victory.
