Hot Notes / Cool Nites Concerts Features Wyoming’s Own

Press release, CWC

Riverton- The CWC Hot Notes | Cool Nites Concerts will begin on Monday, June 20 at 7:00 pm at the Riverton City Park. Kelly Dehnert, Manager of the series, noted that the series has been providing music for the county for 28 years. He added, “If the weather is bad, we will be performing in the Gallery of the Central Wyoming College Arts Center.”

The first concert will feature the CWC Community Band and guest artist, Wyoming’s Own 67th Army Band Ensemble. The band performed for the Hot Notes concerts several years ago according to Dehnert and they are excited to be featuring them once again in a smaller ensemble format this year. “It will be a folk, country, or rock band,” Dehnert explained.

The Hot Notes | Cool Nites concerts are sponsored in part by the Lander and Riverton Recreation Boards, The Ranger, Sinks Canyon Therapies, Home Source Realty, The Sundowner Station, Rocky Mountain Agronomy, Wyoming Arts Council, and Girard Law Offices. “Our sponsors and all those who volunteer really make these concerts possible.” Dehnert said. He added that all the “band members and board of advisors give many hours to give back to their communities some beautiful music.”

Dr. Jeremy Cochran, Music Director of HNCN, encourages high school through older musicians to pick up their instruments and join the band. According to Cochran, the band rehearses before the concerts at 5:30 pm and are fed dinner by a volunteer organization. He said interested musicians should email him at and provide their name, instrument, and email address.
