Vandals hit Lander overnight

Motorists on Lander’s Main Street noticed some vandalism to a business early this morning. Doors and perhaps a window or two were smashed at Fremont Counseling Service overnight. A Facebook item complete with photos of the Fremont Counseling damage was posted at 6:30 this morning showing. The Lander Police Department also reported the incident in its daily log of activity. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lander Police Department.

Stolen vehicle found; Chimney Fire reported

Lander Police responded to 11 calls for service on Wednesday. A vehicle reported stolen in Lander was recovered by the BIA Wind River Police Department. The Lander Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 800 block of Sweetwater Street for a chimney fire.

Harassment incidents reported; Child abuse; One arrest

The sheriff’s office in Lander received 31 calls for service on Wednesday, including 13 ambulance calls and three fire calls. One individual was booked into the detention center making today’s total inmate county 127 people. Items from the call blotter include: A reported incident of child abuse or neglect is being investigated in the Pavillion area. Two REDDI reports were called in, deputies were unable to locate either of the vehicles. Two separate calls alleging Harassment were received. Riverton Police responded to 22 calls for service on Wednesday. Items from the call blotter included: A fence was cut to a storage yard in the 900 block of North Federal and reported to police. An inventory is being undertaken to determine what, if anything, was stolen. A man called police to report that he awoke in a field with a gash on his head and no idea what happened. FCSO: Vehicle missing; Burglary in Pavillion

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received 41 calls for service on Monday, including 17 calls for an ambulance. No one was booked into the detention center which is responsible for 130 inmates today. From the call log: Under active investigation is a burglary reported in Pavillion. A woman who had her vehicle worked on about a year ago left the vehicle with a mechanic. She never heard back from them and when she investigated, she discovered the shop was abandoned and her car was missing. The owner of a gold 1999 Lexus that was left running and unlocked outside of an address on Amoretti Street for about 30 minutes was gone when the owner returned. License plate is 23P-3113. Riverton Police responded to 42 calls for service in the 72 hours from Friday morning through Monday morning. A motorist reported being rear-ended by another vehicle at the intersection of West Main and Major Avenue Two juveniles shooting off fireworks inside the city limits at 250 West Sunset and North Second West were located and released to responsible parties. The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office blotter for the 72 hours from Friday at 7 a.m. to Monday at 7 a.m. The dispatch center received 39 calls for service. There were no arrests made by county deputies. From the call log: A resident in the Lander area reported receiving multiple calls from agencies claiming to be from the IRS and DEA. The subject gave up personal information to the callers, then called the sheriff’s office. A resident of Mustang Drive in Dubois complained that neighbor’s dogs were threatening livestock. Here is the weekend news report from the Lander Police Report from 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday, March 30th. The LPD logged in eight calls for service during that time. From the call blotter: Another complaint was called in saying a neighbor’s two Husky breed dogs, the same one that killed chickens last week, had returned. The dogs were collected and returned to their owner. A moose found itself confused inside a trailer park in the 1200 block of South 8th East. Multiple agencies responded to get the moose back to the River. The theft of a television set was reported from a residence in the 1300 block of South Federal Boulevard. A gas meter was struck in alley of the 500 block of North Third East. The Fire Department responded along with the Black Hills Energy. A burglary reported in the 200 block of East Main Street is under investigation. No details were released. Over the past 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. Friday, the sheriff’s office in Lander received 30 calls for service, including 13 ambulance calls and two fire calls. Two persons were booked into the detention center which has a population today of 136 inmates it is responsible for. Sheriff’s deputies did not make any arrests during this period. Homicide in Riverton Thurs., Police arrest two

On Thursday, March 26, 2020 at approximately 5:09 A.M. Officers of the Riverton Police Department responded to the 1300 block of E. Sunset for a report of a self-inflicted gunshot to a male subject from Riverton.  Upon investigation, a 37 year old male from Riverton identified as Mario Mills was arrested for the 1st Degree Murder of the subject.  Also arrested during the course of the investigation was 43 year old Courtnie Mills of Riverton for Accessory After the Fact. Meth complaint; Sexual Assault; Two Arrests

Riverton Police responded to 15 calls for service on Thursday. Police are investigating an allegation that a two-year-old child was exposed to methamphetamine. A sexual assault in the Riverton area was reported. Police are investigating. The Fremont County Coroner was called on the report of a deceased individual in an apartment on North 6th East. Arrests: Angel Burson, 19, Riverton, Arrested. Domestic Battery, Breach of Peace, Pedestrians Under the Influence and Property Destruction. Ron Cunningham, 44, Riverton, Arrested. Child Endangerment and Pedestrians Under the Influence. All persons arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Domestic Abuse; Dog Calls; One Drug Possession

Lander Police had nine calls on Wednesday, mostly minor in nature. From the call blotter: • There was one fire alarm call on Sweetwater Street that the fire department handled. • A man called police wanting to have a neighbor’s vehicle moved that had been parked in his driveway all winter. • A dog walker on Popo Agie Street said his dog was attacked by two other dogs that came out of a yard.
