RPD: Intoxicated persons arrests dominated blotter

The Riverton Police responded to 27 calls for service on Tuesday. From the call log, a resident went to the RPD to file a complaint that their landlord was entering their residence without permission. A report was taken. Eight persons were arrested on Tuesday. Puppy scam reported; Man punched; Car stolen

A car theft was reported at 9:25 Monday morning from the 600 block of East Fremont. Taken was a 2000 Teal Subaru Legacy with license plate number 10-21522. The vehicle had been parked in front of the residence. A resident on Sioux Avenue reported they were scammed out of $1,200 by a party allegedly selling a puppy to them. A report was taken. Crosswalk violation noted; missing key reported

The Lander Police responded to seven calls for service on Monday. Among the calls was a report that a vehicle failed to stop for a child in a crosswalk at South 9th and Dabich street. The Baldwin Creek School reported a Juvenile left the building last week with a key to the school. Police are following-up. A hit-and-run crash was reported to a company vehicle on Lincoln Street. The damage apparently occurred over the weekend. There are no suspects. There were no arrests.

Identity theft, home burglar, deer complaints and more

Riverton Police responded to 73 calls for service in the past 72 hours that ended Monday morning. Nine arrests were reported over the period. The Police assisted the Fire Department and Airport personnel after the heating system at the Airport Cafe malfunctioned and activated overhead sprinklers. A dog was apparently abandoned in a empty house on Opal Drive. A report is pending. A homeowner returned to find an outside window open and the front door unlocked. Police are investigating. Over the past 72 hours the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office received 135 calls for service, including 43 calls for an ambulance and eight calls for local fire departments. Thirteen persons were booked into the county detention center over that period, making the population of the jail today at 193 inmates, 11 of which are being housed outside of the county. LPD: Fifty calls received over the weekend; Three arrests

The Lander Police Department received 50 calls for service from last Friday through Monday morning at 7 a.m. Three arrests were reported and most of the calls were routine. The LPD did assist the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms on one weekend call and they assisted the FBI on other call. There was one fire investigation call over the three day period. There were three arrests. U.S. District Court Activity included deportations and child pornography cases

 Federal District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal sentenced JOSE DIAZ-CASTANEDA, 45, of Mexico on June 4, 2019 for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Diaz-Castaneda was arrested in Casper, Wyoming. He received time served and ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment, and is subject to deportation. Diaz-Castaneda previously was deported in 2011. The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigated this case.  Federal District Court Judge Alan B. The Lander Police fielded a dozen calls for service on Thursday. Three of the calls were for a vehicle inspection, there was one funeral escort, a caller reported a lost bracelet, one 911 hang-up, one case of domestic battery, a civil standby, one barking dog call, one agency assist, one welfare check and a suspicious person report. Thefts in the county blotter; motorcycle, car, shoplifter

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving 49 calls for service on Thursday. The county ambulance was called out 14 times. Seven persons were booked into the county detention center, which now has a population of 194 inmates. Eleven inmates are housed outside of the county. From the call log, a resident on the 1100 block of North Second Street in Lander reported a motorcycle was stolen from the address. Dubois Super Foods reporting a shoplifting incident Thursday at 11:23 a.m. The report of a car theft is under investigation in Riverton. No other details were released.

Several Hit-and-Run crashes

The Riverton Police Department were called 47 times on Wednesday. From the call log… A rear-end hit and run collision was reported at a quarter to eight Wednesday morning near the West Main Pit Stop that resulted in major damage to a Chevrolet Impala that was struck. The suspect vehicle fled on North Sixth. Another hit and run was reported on Cathedral Drive where some mailboxes were struck and damaged and the truck involved drove off. A report is pending. Report: Plane flying too low

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office received 56 calls for service in the 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. Thursday morning. The county ambulance was dispatched 17 times and county fire departments were called out four times. There were 14 people booked into the county’s detention center making the inmate population today at 195 individuals. Eleven of those inmates are serving time in jail facilities outside of the county. Tenant-Landlord dispute resulted in police call

A resident on Market street reported a fraud in that a lost credit card had been used in the community. A resident on North 4th Street reported his landlord showed up, turned off the power and told the resident they had to be out of the house. Police will follow-up. Two female subjects had a bill of $25 at the Oxbow Restaurant and left without paying. Police were unable to locate the suspects. Arrests: Anderson Antelope, 57, Ethete, on two LPD warrants

In the last 24 hours, the Fremont County 911 center at the sheriff’s office received 43 calls for service. Among the calls were 17 requests for an ambulance. County fire departments were alerted to three controlled burns. Ten individuals were booked into the county detention center which has a current population of 188 inmates, 12 of which are being housed outside of the county. Man fell from roof in Lander

The Lander Police Department is investigated a sexual assault. The LPD is working with Fremont County Youth Services in the case. Police were called a residence on Wood Street for a man who reportedly fell off of a roof. The police assisted the AMR Ambulance personel at the scene. the call came in at a quarter past noon. Arrests: A 53-year-old female of Lander, Jennifer Schacht, was arrested for Public Intoxication. All persons arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

LPD caught two shoplifters, called to Chickens on the lam

The Lander Police Department is investigating the theft of a lawn mower valued at $200 from a resident on North Fifth Street. A woman called the LPD to complain that three brown chickens were loose in her yard on Del Street. A bicycle was reported stolen from the National Outdoor Leadership School’s Nobel Hotel Building on North Third. Two shoplifters were caught in the act at the Maverik Country Store when they attempted to steal liquor from the business. County Detention Center now under 200 inmates

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving 54 calls for service over the past 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. During that period there were 15 ambulance calls and two fire calls. One of the fire calls was for a structure fire near Fort Washakie. Deputies did not make any arrests during the period. The coroner’s office was called out for one natural death in the Riverton area. The Fremont County Detention Center in Lander currently has an inmate population of 184 people. Of that total 11 inmates are being held outside of the county.
