Lander Police received 25 calls for service on Wednesday, including citations being issued to three individuals and one person arrested following a disturbance call. Police received a complaint from a female LVHS student that another student was spreading false rumors about her. The complaint was forwarded to the School Resource Officer at the high school. Riverton Police responded to 37 calls for service on Wednesday. From the call log: A sexual assault in Riverton was reported at 11:25 a.m. The assault is under investigation by detectives. A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of North Federal and East Pershing blocked traffic for a spell Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. There were no injuries. The vehicles involved were two Ford Ranger pickup trucks, one white and the other green. The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office received 56 calls for service on Monday, including 11 requests for an ambulance and 6 fire calls. Five individuals were booked into the detention center which has a total population of 188 inmates. Of those, one is on home detention and 12 inmates are being housed outside of the county. Lander Police had 15 calls for service on Thursday. There was one arrest and three citations issues for alcohol and controlled substance violations. In one call of interest, police were called to the courthouse where a dog had entered the main entrance. Lander Police responded to 20 calls for service on Wednesday. From the call log… An 18-year-old Lander male was trespassed from Lander Valley High School after harassing students there. A man who had called the 911 center multiple times without an emergency was contacted by police and warned not to abuse the 911 number. Arrests/Citations: A 17-year-old Female juvenile was cited for a tobacco violation on Sweetwater Street. Citation issued to James Snook, 42, Lander for Unlawful Contact. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Lander Police had 12 calls for service on Tuesday and there were no arrests reported. From the call log, at 7:41 a.m. a vehicle struck a deer in front of the Lander Maverik Store on East Main. Damage was substantial necessitating a state accident report, but there were no injures. A Lander resident on Eugene Street called to report child porn had been found on a tablet involving their 10-year-old son.
