Today is the day for the planned closure of South Hill Street between West Main and Riverview Road in Riverton for reconstruction of the northern half of the street. The closure is planned for approximately two months.

The work will included utility placement and reconstruction of the street. The lower end of Hill Street and its intersection with Riverview was earlier rebuilt and crews now turn their attention to the West Main side of the street.

An alternate route to reach Main would be Major Avenue for residents coming in from from West Riverview.

The project is being funded by the optional one percent tax funds as recommended by the Fix Our Roads Citizens Committee, or FORCC, in Riverton.

“We are very excited to get this project underway and completed in 2021,” said City of Riverton Public Works Director Kyle Butterfield. “We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as we make these necessary improvements.”
