On Wednesday 10 local locations recorded wind gusts over 60 mph, including a top gust of 101 mph at the WYDOT’s Atlantic City shop. That gust would equal the force of a category two hurricane. Winds were steady there at 73 mph. Other top gusts included 86 mph at Fort Washakie, 74 mph northwest of Lander, 68 at Central Wyoming Regional airport in Riverton, 65 mph at Beaver Rim, 65 mph in Thermopolis, 64mph at Hudson, 63 at Hunt Field Airport in Lander an 60 mph at Crowheart.
