To no ones surprise, the top news story on and the Wind River Radio Network of 2020 is the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. No other story amassed the number of posts than this continuing threat to the personal and economic health of the community, state, nation and world.

Since the virus was first identified in March, has posted 1,135 stories on the spread and impacts of the pandemic through today. The virus, through News Year Eve, has resulted in 60 deaths of Fremont County Resident; Sixteen residents of Washakie County have been killed by the virus and there has been one death in Hot Springs County attributed to the virus.

As 2020 ends and we look forward to 2021, the life-saving COVID-19 vaccines developed by ‎Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna are finally reaching Fremont County and the Wind River Reservation. But the two doses required and the time between when the doses can be administered doesn’t mean the virus will be tamed anytime soon. The vaccines are being distributed on the basis of a state’s population, which means Wyoming is last on the list.

Public Health officials continue to seek the public’s cooperation by wearing a mask, frequent hand washing, social distancing and staying at home if feeling ill.
