High Wind Warning Today across the region

The National Weather Service Station in Riverton has issued a High Wind Warning for a good portion of western and central Wyoming, including Fremont, Hot Springs and Washakie counties through tonight.

Wind gusts could reach up to 61 mph today in Shoshoni, 58 mph in Riverton, 52 mph in Jeffrey City, 51 mph in Dubois, 48 mph at Thermopolis, and 45 mph at Lander and Worland.

With the warning comes the advice that light and high profile vehicles are more vulnerable for a blow-over risk, that that includes campers and tractor-trailer units.

Today’s high temperatures will be mostly in the upper 50s, except at Dubois where the thermometer should reach into the low 40s. There’s also a chance for some spotty rain and snow showers.
