Casper grabbed early leads at CWC and won two games

The 14-2 Casper College Thunderbirds got off to a fast start at Rustler Gym Wednesday night and went on to a 103 to 90 win over Central Wyoming College before a standing room only crowd. It was the first conference matchup for the Rustlers, who now have a record of 10-6 overall and 0-1 in league play.

The Rustlers were led by Jerroda Briscoe with a double double, 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 blocks plus Darius Guinn who also poured in 22 points, just missing a double double with 9 rebounds. Riverton’s own Trenton Paxton scored 14 points and he was perfect from beyond the arc, hitting three of three.

In the women’s game, Casper led all the way in a 63-51 victory.  Sophomore Forward Essy Latu led CWC with 23 points,  and Freshman Guard Kailiana Ramos added 10. The Lady Rustlers fell to 4-10 overall and 0-1 in conference.

The CWC Men and Women will be on the road Saturday at Gillette College to face the Pronghorn at 2 and 4 p.m.
