In celebration of Fire Prevention Week, the Lander Volunteer Fire Department’s annual open house is tonight, Thursday, Oct. 10, from 6-8 p.m. The event is occurring at the Lander Fire Station at 4th and Garfield.
Firefighters invite the community to learn more and visit with many of the local Fremont County Emergency Agencies that will be in attendance.
The LVFD also reminds all county residents to “Hear the Beep where you Sleep” with a smoke alarm and fresh battery. According to firefighters,
• Every bedroom needs a working smoke detector
• Check batteries once a month to make sure they work
• Change batteries when you change your clocks
• Replace your detectors if they are more than 10 years old.
