Lander, Wyo. – Fremont County Sheriff Ryan Lee Tuesday told the Fremont County Commissioners that of that morning, his office, year to date, had received 6,100 calls for service.

Of the 199 inmates in custody on Tuesday, 189 were in house at the detention center in Lander, one inmate was on home detention and six inmates were being held in the Sweetwater County Jail.

The Detention Center had two juveniles that were being held in Natrona County.

So, where are all the inmates coming from? Lee said by far the Riverton Police Department is sending the most to the detention center, with 85 bookings in September. The Sheriff’s Office itself incarcerated 69 inmates, while 10 being held came from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, 34 prisoners came from Lander and three from Shoshoni.

Of those in the detention center, 128 were males and 60 were females. Sixty-Eight of the inmates had already been sentenced and were serving their terms and the number of pre-sentenced individuals was 121. Of those, half are awaiting disposition in District Court on felony charges, Ryan reported.
