With a multitude of events happening over the weekend, it was hard to choose an event on a Friday night. The Thermopolis Rodeo, bringing it’s usual Rodeo splendor, had and additional unexpected attraction.
Coyote Peterson, a Youtube Personality best known for his wildlife YouTube channel “Brave Wilderness” where he intentionally gets stung by insects with the most painful stings, along with other animals. Peterson uses the platform to teach viewers about animals.
Coyote Peterson first began posting videos on his YouTube channel, Brave Wilderness, in 2014. On the channel, he hosts several series including: Breaking Trail, which won an Emmy Award in 2015 for youth/teen programs, Dragon Tails, Coyote’s Backyard, Beyond the Tide, and On Location. He was featured on Conan along with Jeff GoldBlum where he brought animals like the world’s largest slug and a bird eating tarantula.
Peterson explained that he was in Thermopolis working with the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and would head out of state after the Thermopolis Rodeo, but also joked about a possible experiment similar to the one below…
According to his Facebook Page, his time in Hot Springs County also included fossil hunting, finding Horned Lizards, and sightseeing. You can look forward to some of his upcoming projects like “Beyond Dinosaurs,” which can be found on Facebook. Below are some of Peterson’s posts from his time in Thermopolis.
Coyote Peterson also took time to talk to kids that recognized him from his show and answer any questions they had. Lastly, took the time for a photo-op with radio/news person wondering what brought him to Hot Springs County.
