Emergency landing protocol activated at Riverton Airport

A Denver Air Connection flight from Denver Saturday landed safely at Riverton Regional Airport after a tire blew out upon take off in Denver.

Over the weekend a Denver Air Connection passenger jet reported a tire was damaged on takeoff in Denver Saturday morning. The pilots requested emergency services be on standby when it arrived at Riverton Regional Airport.

When arriving from Denver, the jet made a low fly-by over the airport so officials on the ground could assess the damage. Fortunately, there was no damage to the airframe, but the tire had been shredded.

The jet then landed without incident with the city’s Airport Rescue and Fire Trucks standing by. While repairs were made, the flight had a two hour delay on its next connection to Sheridan. There were no injuries, but perhaps a few anxious moments for the passengers.
