UPDATE: Wind River Canyon rock fall; One lane open

US20/WY789 remains closed this morning between Shoshoni and Thermopolis. Wyoming Department Of Transportation crews from Shoshoni and Thermopolis have worked all night to break up the rock which is blocking a lane of the highway just east of the Boysen State Park headquarters. The rock fell on the highway between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. last night. There is no estimated time of when the highway will reopen. WYDOT photo

Update: The Wind River Canyon highway has been reopened to traffic with one lane travel around the boulder fall. Crews are working to remove the boulder, please use caution in the area.

UPDATE at 5:30 a.m. One travel lane is blocked between Shoshoni and Thermopolis at milepost 113, Be prepared to stop, expect delays. – WYDOT

Traffic Alert: The Wind River Canyon highway is closed, US 20/WYO 789 between Shoshoni and Thermopolis. The road is closed due to a rock fall as of Wednesday, May 29 at 09:23 p.m. The estimated opening time is unknown.

Parking on the roadway is prohibited and delays WYDOT from opening the road.
