Sheriff’s report: Driver stranded in snow on pass

Monday was relatively quiet for the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office with 44 calls for service. Four persons were booked in the Lander detention center bringing the jail population to 187. Two inmates are being housed outside of the county.

A Sheriff’s Deputy assisted the Department of Family Services in an investigation after a complaint was filed that a vulnerable adult was being exploited in the Riverton area.

A resident along Red Canyon Road came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a dog bite.

A possible burglary was reported on Pavilion when a door on a home was found to be open when the resident returned.

An incident of Domestic Abuse was reported from the Garden’s North Subdivision outside of Riverton.

A female driver called to report that her vehicle had become stuck in the snow in a turnout on top of Togwotee Pass, just inside the Fremont County line. The Highway Patrol was notified.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
