City Council to review West Main construction; Former Babe Ruth baseball park

The agenda for the Riverton City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 2 has been released.

City property on West Main Street between the intersections with Hill Street and with College View Drive could be purchased by the Wyoming Department of Transportation if the city council approves this coming Tuesday night. The purchase would allow WYDOT to make improvements along the street and sidewalks to comply with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) provisions.

The land that would be purchased has a total appraised value of just over $2,600. No current improvements the two parcels would be impacted by the proposed construction.

The project actually begins at Second West and West Main and stretches west to Hill Street. According to Public Works Director Kyle Butterfield, WYDOT’s plan of work includes construction of new curb, gutter, sidewalk, approaches and ramps.

Other items on the agenda include a Memorandum of Understanding between the City and Riverton Little League for the baseball field at the Northwest corner of Sunset and Major, directly across from Riverton Middle School. With the demise of the Riverton Babe Ruth baseball program, Riverton Little League is proposing to use the site for another youth baseball program.

The meeting is open to the public. See the complete agenda below:
