Wet Nose Wednesday Featured Pets

These local pets are looking for a loving place to call home!

From the Lander Pet Connection let us introduce Josie the Dog and Mary-Kate and Ashley the Cat!

Call Lander Pet Connection at 330-5220 or see our website www.landerpets.org for more information on this program designed to reduce the number of unwanted animals in our area.

JOSIESeveral of our kids have had a teacher named Josie who is kind, active and has an outgoing personality and, while the teacher is no dog, the name seemed to fit our new gal! Our Josie was transferred to Lander from Casper, where she came in as a stray. We believe Josie is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mixed with yellow lab and that she is roughly one to one and a half years old. Josie loves to get out and run and play; she plays hard so she would be a perfect fit for a home with another active dog that isn’t afraid of some rough and tumble! Josie does need to go to a home with a tall, wood fence or a home with land away from livestock. When she is bored or sees something fascinating (cow!) she can scale a chain link fence in seconds flat, but does come back when called, despite having a new name. Josie is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and her adoption fee is $85.

Mary-Kate and Ashley were part of a litter of stray kitties that showed up at a workshop in town. These two were both pretty skittish upon arriving to LPC, but with work from our volunteer, Joanne, they have turned into girlies who appreciate a good tummy rub! We believe these ladies were born around October 1st, 2014. Both kitties will likely be a little shy going into a new home, but a calm environment and a bit of patience will yield great household additions in the long run! Mary-Kate is more fond of being picked up than her sister, she is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and her adoption fee is $35.

Andrea dogs 4-2-15 088Lulu is an adorable and playful 1 year old Labrador Retriever mix but is having troubles finding a home just because she is a black dog. Lulu loves other dogs and would be a great companion for another active dog. We had a volunteer take Lulu on a 5k run where she did fabulous and really enjoyed the exercise, people and fun environment. Lulu needs an active owner and will not be satisfied just sitting in a yard all the time. If you need a walking, hiking or jogging partner then Lulu is your girl! She is also great around kids and will be an extremely fun dog to have around. Lulu’s adoption fee is $80.00 which includes the spay, vaccinations, de worming and micro chip.
