Shoshoni earns its second victory of the season, on homecoming

Shoshoni got off to an explosive start, receiving the opening kick off and Josh Oaks returned it 80 yards for a touch down, PAT good.  Shoshoni leads 7-0 at the 11:47 mark in the 1st.
Wyoming Indian got the ball from the kickoff, and had trouble finding the handle.  The returner was taken down at the 11 yard line.  After a penalty for 12 men on the field, the snap was fumbled but picked up by QB Joseph Sazue, who was promptly tackled in the end zone by Shoshoni for a safety.  (sorry I didn’t see the player that made the tackle) so Shoshoni leads now 9-0, at the 10:05 mark in the 1st.
The following free kick was returned 65 yards by Triston Parrish, for another Shoshoni touchdown.  PAT was good, Shoshoni leads 16-0 with 9:53 in the 1st.
The following Wyoming Indian possession lead to a 3 and out, and the snap on 4th down went over the punter’s head.  JJ Pingetzer pick up the ball and ran it into the end zone for another Shoshoni touchdown.  PAT good, Shoshoni leads 23-0 at the 6:52 mark of the 1st.
The next series of downs lead to another fumble on 3rd down by Wyoming Indian.  JJ Pingetzer recovered the fumble at the Wyoming Indian 2 yard line.
QB Jason Thoren ran the ball in behind a good push from his offensive line for a 2 yard touch down run, PAT good.  Shoshoni leads 30-0 at the 5:14 mark in the 1st.
The next series of downs for Wyoming Indian was another 3 and out.   On the punt, Coleter Jordan (pronounced COLTER, but spelled differently) blocked the punt and picked up the ball and ran it in from the 14 yard line,  for another Shoshoni touchdown.  PAT was good, Shoshoni leads 37-0 with 2:51 left in the 1st.
The next series was another 3 and out for Wyoming Indian.  The punt was fielded at the 50 yard line by Triston Parrish.  He broke a tackle, used his blockers well running all the way back across the field of play, scoring a touchdown.  PAT good, Shoshoni leads 44-0, as time ran out in the 1st.
2nd quarter.
Wyoming Indian lost a fumble on the next 3rd down, recovered by Patrick Cornell.  Shoshoni ended up punting back to Wyoming Indian.
Wyoming Indian went for it on a 4th and 2, but did not get it, turning the ball over on downs at the 6:30 mark of the 2nd.
Shoshoni hit a 37 yard touchdown pass from Thoren to Wyatt Ramsey.  Shoshoni went for two but failed.  Shoshoni leads 50-0, at the 5:24 mark of the 2nd.
After another Wyoming Indian fumble, Patrick Cornell ran a 25 yard touchdown run for Shoshoni at the 1:40 mark of the 2nd.  PAT was another 2 point attempt and was good making the score Shoshoni 58, Wyoming Indian 0.
The first half ended with Coleter Jordan intercepting a pass.
3rd quarter.  (running clock)
Wyoming Indian fumbled the ball on their opening drive, after moving well.
Shoshoni then scored on a 15 yard touchdown run by Connor Wilkinson, PAT was good, score 65-0 Shoshoni, at the 8:58 mark in the 3rd.
4th quarter.
Wyoming Indian put together a beautiful 80 yard drive and took care of the ball.  They scored on a 2 yard touch down run by QB Joesph Sazue, PAT good, Shoshoni leads 65-7, with 11:54 in the 4th.
                                                           This was Wyoming Indian’s first points of the year.
On the ensuing drive, Shoshoni scored on a 56 yard touchdown run by Anthony Cousineau, PAT was no good.  At 11:15, Shoshoni leads 71-7.
The final score was on a 1 yard touchdown run by JJ Pingetzer, PAT no good, Shoshoni leads 77-7 with :40 left.
The final score was Shoshoni 77, Wyoming Indian 7.
Shoshoni played it’s younger kids starting in the 2nd quarter.  Both squads rotated a lot of kids through out the game, both being small in numbers.
Triston Parrish was the player of the game.
Shoshoni is now 2-3.
Shoshoni travels to Wind River on Thursday night for a BIG, BIG rivalry game with possible playoff seeding implications already in the season.  Kick off is set for 7:00 pm.
