Saratoga received the opening kick. They ran three plays and then Shoshoni blocked the punt and recovered the ball at the Saratoga 31 yard line.
For Shoshoni, Connor Wilkinson ran a sweep for a 33 yard touch down with 8:34, PAT was blocked, Shoshoni 6 -0.
QB Jason Thoren ran a 6 yard touch down , at 4:11, the PAT was missed. Shoshoni 12 – 0.
For Shoshoni, Triston Parish intercepted a Saratoga pass and took it to the Saratoga 34 yard line with 2:35.
Josh Oaks ran a 6 yard touch down with :55 seconds, PAT was good, Shoshoni 19 – 0.
Shoshoni drove the ball deep in Saratoga territory, but missed a 30 yard field goal early in the 2nd.
Saratoga took the ball there but could not do anything with it.
Shoshoni blocked the punt and got the ball back deep in Saratoga’s end of the field. With a couple penelties, Shoshoni tried a 22 yard field goal, but missed wide right at 2:20.
Then next score came from Shoshoni’s Wyatt Ramsey, on a 43 yard touch down run with :14 seconds left in the half, PAT good, Shoshoni 26 – 0.
Shoshoni’s Coleter (pronounced COLTER but spelled different) blocked a Saratoga punt at 7:31, recovered by Connor Wilkinson, that set up this….
A 6 yard touch down run by Wilkinson with 4:37, PAT good, Shoshoni 33 – 0 .
Saratoga got the ball back but could do nothing with it and ended up punting on 4th and 11. The snap went over the punter’s head and Shoshoni got the ball back on the Saratoga 2 yard line at 3:09.
At 3:07 Jason Thoren scored on a QB keeper, PAT good, Shoshoni 40 – 0 .
Saratoga again had trouble moving the ball and needed to punt with :33. The snap again went over the punter’s head giving Shoshoni excellent field position.
Shoshoni scored with :24 seconds left in the 3rd on a Wyatt Ramsey run to the left side scoring a 25 yard touch down, PAT had a bad snap and was missed. Shoshoni 46 – 0 .
That put us on the running clock for the 4th quater.
The only score in the 4th was a 15 yard touch down run by Wilkinson, PAT good making the final score Shoshoni 53, Saratoga 0.
Shoshoni had excellent defense, and I think that Saratoga only got across mid field twice in the game but I am not sure. As a result, Shoshoni had excellent field position all night long.
Shoshoni’s offensive line gave their best showing of the season by far. When called on there were holes on the left, right and in the middle for the backs to get through. The O line also gave great protection on pass plays.
The Player of the game was offensive lineman JJ Pingetzer.
Shoshoni hosts Wyoming Indian for Homecoming on October 3rd at 6 pm.
