NATIVE AMERICAN GRADUATION RATE LOWEST

wyoming department of education (150x126)(Riverton) – Native American students have the lowest high school graduation rates in the state, according to figures released this week by the Wyoming Department of Education.

For the 2015-2016 school year, 53 percent of Native American students graduated compared to 82 percent for white students and 74 percent for Hispanics.

Overall, Wyoming had a graduation rate of nearly 80 percent in the last school year, which was the highest level since 2010.

Park County School District 16 and Sheridan County School District 3 both had 100 percent graduation rates last year while Fremont County School District 21, the Fort Washakie School, had the lowest at just over 40 percent.
