Former Cowgirl basketball players Kaitlyn Mileto and Kayla Woodward have each signed contracts to play overseas this upcoming year.
Mileto reached an agreement to play for the Southern Peninsula Lady Sharks in Australia. She will be a part of the Lady Sharks Big V State Championship season beginning in February of 2016.
“I’m excited for the chance to continue my basketball career,” Mileto said. “I am truly grateful for all of the support I have from my Wyoming family and fans.”
Woodward will be playing for San Cristobal de La Laguna of the CBD Clarinos League. Located in the Canary Islands, she will begin her season in September and runs through April.
“I definitely wanted to continue my career in basketball,” Woodward added. “This will be the perfect opportunity for me to do that and see different parts of the world.”
Both just recently completed their senior seasons with the Wyoming women’s basketball program that went 16-14 overall and 10-8 in Mountain West play. Mileto finished her career as the all-time UW leader in three-point field goals and attempts. She also had 1,424 points which ranks 13th in school history and was named All-MW as a sophomore. Woodward finished amongst the top 15 in nine career categories including fourth in scoring with 1,769 career points. She was named All-Mountain West four times during her career and was named the MW preseason player of the year twice.
